The fourth quarter is here and boy oh boy did it arrive in record time.
Normally during this time, we’re looking to slow things down, finish up projects and take time to enjoy the holiday season as much as we can before Q1 hits us. While everyone else has been trying to keep up with the algorithms and come up with creative content to post consistently every day, I folded BIG TIME.
Yah girl has dropped the ball these last few months with creating content for the brand and while I know it’s important for growth, I can honestly say business has still been pretty good making it that much easier to neglect my socials.
I also have to admit that running my business alone has been a bit of a challenge as I try to manage more clients and a full-time job but this break from social media has really helped me focus on producing better quality work for my clients and time management.
When I wrote out all the reasons why I wasn’t showing up for myself and my business, I literally got annoyed with my own damn excuses.
So, I created a new schedule for myself that I was going to wait to kick start in the New Year thinking; “well, I’ve been off the grid this long, why not wait a little longer and use this time to perfect what I already have?” ultimately knowing that I was just procrastinating and making another excuse for the fact that returning to social media is just a task I’m dreading because let’s face it, algorithms suck and I am over trying to adapt my social strategies to them. Not to mention managing other brands’ social accounts leaves very little drive and motivation for me to actually want to tackle my own. Excuse!!!
Instead of giving in to my procrastination, I’ve decided to jump back into the game now. No more excuses on why I can’t, only a positive mindset and strategy to prove why I can.
Starting now will also allow me to test out my new schedule and make adjustments before the New Year actually gets here. That way once we walk into 2023, I’ll already be on a roll and kicking the year off successfully.
Seriously; if you’re over there waiting around for the new year to start something or to make a “big comeback”, this is your sign to start now. Stop making excuses for yourself and just get out there and make something happen.
